Having fun & making jewelry
Sometimes things don't go quite perfectly in the shop, but for one reason or another you roll with it. That happened yesterday. I needed to make some sheet & my ingot didn't want to cooperate. The result was a sheet that resembled a popular snack among young children. Of course, I had to get a picture! (and then the little fishy grew up!) As in life, in the shop sometimes you have to see the humor in the "oops"es! If you read this post you will recall that I am working on a lot of new pieces right now &...
These new pieces have me very excited!
Damn you coronavirus! Just had to get that off my chest! I don’t know about you, but with all the craziness going on my normal routine is out the window and stress levels are high. Of course, there are the usual stresses of running a small business, the impact this will have on it, taking care of my children and minimizing the impact of this for them. The unexpected stress of what used to be a mundane thing like going to the grocery store is really hitting me hard. I never imagined having to get to the store 45 minutes before it opened just...

The perfect Spring/March jewelry combination
It's March & do you know what that means? It means if you're a jeweler you are morally obligated to post aquamarine pictures in March. There's a contract we all sign. I swear. Just to prove what a rebel I am I thought I'd show you how well my aquamarine necklace goes with my pearl and diamond earrings as well as my silver ring. All these pieces are from my Closed Hourglass Collection. In case you are now suffering from sensory overload, here's a picture of just the aquamarine in question all by herself: Talk to you soon, Nikki
A beautiful day for the dog park and my Closed Hourglass Earrings
In case you haven't noticed I'm suffering from spring fever. I can not wait for warmer weather. I'm not sure why, this winter has been pretty mild. I know I shouldn't be complaining, but I am. I. WANT. SPRING. NOW! (Picture a 3 year old having a tantrum) Yesterday was a treat, warmer weather and SUN!! It was the perfect day for a quick trip to my local dog park! So I threw on my Closed Hourglass earrings, mine are silver with purple garnets, yes purple, (Did you know garnets actually come in a wide range of colors?)...
It's time (!!) for spring time jewelry!!
Finally!! Of course, now that I've posted about it tomorrow it will snow. That's just the way my luck goes. For now, though, I'm going to enjoy the sun and wear jewelry like these necklaces with aquamarine, pink pearl and coin pearl. Their light hues and long chains put me in the spring breeze frame of mind! Talk to you soon, Nikki P.S. Why don't you head on over to my on-line shop & take a look at the other necklaces from my Closed Hourglass Collection. Don't forget to sign-up for my email list so you know when new...
