Opals are incredibly hard to photograph.
The reason? The play of color. "Play of color" is the gemological term used to describe all the different colors that an opal can show and how those colors change and move as the opal moves.
It makes for a nightmare to photograph but means that you can wear them with so much! I've taken pictures of this opal necklace with my moonstone earrings, my Tahitian pearl ring and aquamarine ring & they all looked incredible!
So I thought I would see how they look with a strong green like my chrysoprase earrings. Big surprise... it all works!
